    Cool Another newbie!

    Hello -
This is my second attempt at this post as my first one must have got too wordy and my session timed out or something. So I'll try to summarize this time...
I collect primarily Brett Favre. I also have collections of William Henderson (est. > 90% complete!), John Brockington (just started!), Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke, Packer autograph cards, Jim Otto, Mike Webster, Ron Dayne (first year only), Dave Krieg, Barry Sanders, Tony Stewart, Alan Kulwicki, and Dave Marcis.
I've been collecting since 1994, but I do remember buying one pack of Topps football sometime back in the 70's. Unfortunately I don't remember what happened to those cards - I can only wonder now what I actually pulled.
I also have a question... is there a forum dedicated to identifying the difficult sets? For example, what's the difference between 1996 Metal base and the Precious Metal parallel set? I happen to know, but does everyone? I think a forum like that would be very helpful.
I hope we can strike some great deals!

Welcome to SCF! There really isn't a specific forum for identifying sets, but if you have a question about a card, you can ask in the Football Card Talk forum, or whatever sport the card is from. Hope that helps.

    Hey,

Welcome to SCF! Glad you decided to join the message boards. This is the best place to trade cards, talk about em, or just meet new people with similar hobby interests. So if thats what your looking for, you've come to the right place. Its always nice to see former collectors get back into the hobby after taking a few years off, that hobby bug just can't stay away. As for your question, I think your best opportunity is to post it in the football section. They even have a section dedicated to set collectors that are trying to finish off sets. So if your looking to finish off the Metal set, this might be the place to look. Thats a great percentage of William Henderson, you'll have to get a photobucket up so we can look at your collection, it sounds like a good one. You'll find a TON of packers fans in the football section as well, I think like the Eagles down here, its more of a religion that a fan base haha. The members on here are great, everyone is very helpful and ful of knowledge, so if you have any questions about cards, just post it up. I wish I knew what I pulled in my first pack of cards too, but it was soo long ago, and I would trade with my brothers all the time, I'm sure its sitting around, but I would have no idea what it was. Saddly, the hobby has gotten a lot more expensive now a days but its still just as much fun, when you pull the big one. Please feel free to PM or post any questions you may have. Hope to see you around the boards!
    Enjoy the site!

    ~Matt
