Most of my friends don't collect but they don't care that I do.

I don't think in the 17 years I have been back in collecting (collected when I was a kid in the mid 70's as well) anyone has ever made fun or said something negative about what I do. I used to take friends to shows with me when I lived in California, (non collecting friends) pay their way into the show, buy them lunch, buy them dinner (if the show was real long) to just stand in line and help me get autographs :) They always seemed to have a good time, I got some nice autos from many of the players I would never had had a chance at had I been by myself. If your friends poke fun and talk mess, maybe you ought to find different friends...lol :P
Peace~

All my friends are envious because I have so much 49ers memorabilia, so many 49er autographs and good cards of Barlow. 99.9% of my friends are 49er fans.
Also it doesn't hurt knowing that I could have $1,000, or more, if I REALLY needed it.

Yep that is also another thing as well. Some stuff never loses value and its just like putting it into the bank. To know you got the money there if needed is a great thing
well said KR

Most people laugh at me because I'm such a baseball fanatic. Few actually know I collect the cards.
