Actually, Texas can do what it wants. It was the only state to be it's own nation before it was a state in the union....The Republic of Texas....and it'd be nice to go back to the Republic of Texas. The laws allow for Texas to leave the union any time it feels the need to....if that's what Texans want.
The Feds have no jurisdiction in Texas unless Texas asks for help(National Guard for disaster relief or border help), or allows criminal Federal intervention/investigation, i.e. FBI, ATF, DEA, etc. The only Federally owned property in Texas is Fort Hood, and Texas made the U.S. buy that. Other than that, Texas can tell the Feds to, as Rick Perry once put, "Get On Down The Road".
Yes, Bush did spend money at the end like a socialist, but the current president has spent more than all other presidents combined(including Bush). This will cause taxes to eventually be so high, the economy will be in a very long and very hard recession because economic growth will be stiffled.
Bush also stood up to radical dictators like Sadam Hussein (who the whole world thought had chemical/bio/and almost nuclear weapons). He did cave in and take North Korea off the terrorist state designation (why), but he did stand by Israel's side against Iran.
Yes, Bush did install a crony as head of FEMA, someone with no disaster related experience at all in charge of disaster relief, and yes this happened shortly before the worst devastation of an American metro area ever. But it was not racism that delayed the response to Katrina, just inept insufficient people in charge of FEMA.
But come on, did Bush ever "sit down at a table" with people who were in the process of making nuclear weapons to use on us? Did Bush ever decide to take control of the banks, car companies, mortgage companies, insurance companies, healthcare companies, ect.? Did Bush ever control 40% of the large private corporations like the current president? Was Bush ever a member of radical communist social circles who want to install gestapos, bread lines, etc?
Yeah, your state may just give up the rights of free speech, religion, gun ownership, free press, ect., and just lay down to communism like Cuba did.......But come on Texans, Let's form a Republic again!!!!!!!!!!
