    Really need your opinion!

So here is the situation. I do not collect players, or teams. I ONLY collect sets, but I do NEED trade bait. I am a college kid who puts 100% into college funds and bills. So any money card money, I'd like to use for a while.I am trying to collect the 08/09 Ice Fresh Threads set (for sure the non-number, maybe the #/100, possibly all). Maybe the glacial graphs from Ice. I have 170. Enough to buy two boxes of UD ICE, SPA, and/or BTP. I can do any situation. It'll make sense to get the two ICE, but what if I get the situation like I did last time.. no fresh threads, and not much to sell? What is the best trade value and sell value? (my box of ice would of maybe gotten me $35 (with a case hit), I already made $110 on my $90 box of SPA) Should I buy one box and use the rest for sets, really need help.

I dont' know what the Fresh Threads sell for...... but why not take the 170 and spend it on them, as singles? Don't get the fun of busting boxes..... but you're sure to get the cards you need for the set.

After my break today I will say BTP. Like any product there are dud boxes, but they are outnumbered by the boxes with great hits. ITG cards trade fairly well, but sale value is lacking compared to UD even for really nice cards.

fresh threads sell for dirt cheap (at least the normal ones) im thinking one box of BTP, one of ice, and ill have enough to buy 4 or 5 fresh threads. so confused though still/

Ice has perhaps the worst expected value of any of UD's hockey products. If you want trade clout, whatever is NEWEST is going to be trading for the moon, which I think is why many people say SPA. You do get the auto rc's, and a decent shot at a patch, with 4 per case. I think even Upper Deck Ser. 1 is a viable option, because for 170 you can get 3 or so boxes of that, and good young guns would trade for several fresh threads, as potentially would some of the other inserts and jersey cards. Nobody wants em. Don't buy ice chasing fresh threads for your collection: buy something people want and trade for them. There's more value in that. I just think, with SPA, it'll be hard to find people with enough fresh threads to warrant trading autos from SPA for them.

In truth, you could probably buy the entire fresh threads set for 170 off ebay, if shipping wasn't an issue. That's not very fun though.

    Pack luck!

Yes I think i could buy the whole set, it is why i may collect the /100 or /25 even. I also need A LOT of tradebait. 3 boxes of series 1 or 2 could actually be a great idea. hmm decisions!
