Agreed, why would the Islanders keep it when they could trade it for another Alexei Yashin! :)

I think if they play their cards right they are set for the next 10-15 years with a first line of Tavares, 18 and Okposo, 20 centered by Josh Bailey, 19. If Dipietro ever finds a way to get back to All Star form for a full season, these guys could be scary in 2 or 3 years.

All this talk of them trading it is crazy. So what if Brian Burke wants the #1 pick?

As yourselves. What do the Leafs have, that you would trade for the the #1 pick? I can't think of anything.

I think Tavares will be a good pickup. The Islanders is not a bad team, if tavares could become a leader of that team, and the staff will get some players and defence next to him, the islanders can be a really good team. So I think it won't be a good idea to trade that pick.

Agreed. I think they will draft Tavares. I think he's an amazing talent, and could be great for a long time.

But they SHOULD draft Hedman. This is a team about 5 quality Dmen short of having 6 quality D men. Theyve invested all that money in the goalie, get him some people to play in front of him and clear the crease.

Is it just me, or judging by his interview on TSN does Tavares really not want to be an Islander?
