    Game 3: Devils/Canes

    What a Game!

Glad I was able to attend before flying out to Tampa, FL, for the Hawaii Trade Convention in a couple of hours.

I'd like to thank Duane (fdp79) and his girlfriend for joining me at the game and being a good sport.

The place was electric for the Canes and I'm glad my Devils were able to pull it out in OT. Ward played a great game, but there was no way he was going to stop the winning goal. The rebound came back perfectly to Zajac.

But alas, I do not understand why there must be belligerent fans. The last time I went to a Canes/Devils game, I had popcorn thrown at me nad beer poured on me...just because I was rooting for the Devils. This time around, there were two Devils fans who wouldn't shut up. The biggest travesty was they keep saying things like "Marty Rules" and "Go Marty" during the National Anthem! I'm no kidding...just ask Duane. It made me embarrassed to be a Devils fan.

They continued their antics during the entire 1st period. I think Duane and I both were ready to go up the two rows and beat some sense into them.

Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. And I should mention, Duane and I bet a box of cards on the game. Since the Devils won, he has to buy me a box of 05/06 UD Rookie Update. Yeah, may not be to everyone's liking, but you never know. We kept the bet cheap...and besides, it's free for me...

Thanks to you as well Tony.My Girlfriend and I had a great time and hopefully the canes can pull off a win Tuesday and make a series of this. Hopefully, when those jerks sober up they will realize how disrespectful their actions were. Its one thing to cheer for your favorite player or team ( like you did) but to disrespect the National Anthem is deserving of well...... unpleasant things in their future. On a positive note, congrats on the win and i hope you enjoy the box.... pull something really nice. Enjoy the show in florida.....next game ill do the driving

Glad to hear you guys had a great time. As for the moronic loud Devils fans well, you should go to a Football match in England...awful behavior reaches new lows there...

Sounds like a fun time! Glad you guys saw a great game!

I went to the flyers game yesterday and saw my boys come alive. For those who didn't see, Claude Giroux made one of the nicest short handed plays I've seen in a while!

Yea, great game, and glad we finally took one in OT. It is annoying though when people act like idiots at games. The majority of New York/Jersey sports fans are way too arrogant/rude and obnoxious for my liking. Living in the area it drives me nuts dealing with all of them. I mean I do not even care if it's a fan of a team I root for, its just juvenile and annoying. Its one think to cheer on your team, but really, shut up and watch the game instead of going to games just to talk ish, and especially if you are in another teams home rink. Last year one of my friends worked security at Prudential and it was fun picking on obnoxious Ranger fans and then watching them get kicked out the second they opened their mouths. My buddy actually kicked a guy out once just for wearing an Avery jersey. It was great.

Talk about being juvenile, rude and immature.

That sort of stuff happens all the time. If you want to make a target out of yourself, you should not expect to stay long. In the lower levels its usually pretty calm, and for the most part people go there to watch and talk hockey which is great. I have no problem with people who are hockey fans with a favorite team, however particularly with Devil/Ranger games, there are too many people on both sides who are just obnoxious homers who could care less about hockey in general. There are far too many of those people who snap up cheap nose bleed tickets just to go talk ish.
