Have you ever wondered
How many miles one individual sportscard may have traveled in its lifetime until it finally finds a home in someones PC to stay?
What would be the record for number of miles traveled be?
How many countries has it traveled to?
How many collectors hands has it been in?
Makes you wonder if a sportscard could tell a story, what would it be?
Just makes one wonder.

I know that one of my cards has been traded between 4 different people in less than a year and been to 2 different countries: Austraila and Canada

that is strange... i've never really thought of that.
i mean, i know i keep in my mind it's been to "so-and-so country" but never how far it might've traveled.
you figure from printing, production, manufacturing, selling to a shop, the sales/sending out if it's a website, someone pulling it.
then from there it could go ebay/trade/etc. etc.
i'd say the average good card could go 300 miles, but idk thats just me

What about sending out a card to a member and they send it to another member and so on? Just for fun, see how far it can go and see how many places it can get to.

Reminds me of the site where'george.com that allows you to enter in dollar bills to track where they've been.

I traded for an SPX Garnett GU from Australia, so figuring it was made in the USA, packaged and shipped to Australia, somehow got into this guys hands, then he traded it to me, so it went back to the USA. It appears that it's about 9000+ miles from Minnesota to Australia, and figuring it's about 2000 miles from MN to California (assuming that's where the card was originally produced), I have one card that travelled at least 16,000 miles.
And that's only if this one collector was the only owner of it prior to me!Reminds me of the site where'george.com that allows you to enter in dollar bills to track where they've been.
I use that site still, occassionaly - rarely get any "hits" (bills previously entered), but it's fun to get one that has been previously entered.

I like that idea, maybe we could have something started.
Kinda of like where is "Waldo"?
It wouldn't have to be any special card.
This could be a neat idea:
- Member would start a thread Where is my (name a card)?
- Member would add that card to a trade.
- The member that received that card, would add it to there next trade (SCF site member).
- and so on.
It would be interesting to see how long it would last until eventually the card, for lack of a better term, disappeared.
The member who started the thread, then would update the rest of us on the travels of that card. By, editing the original post.
i.e.
1/1/09 - Start: Minnesota
1/1/10 - Florida
etc, etc, etc
Granted it would take some effort by any member receiving "Waldo" and the member that originally sent "Waldo" to keep the site updated.
Eventually, Waldo would be lost, but so be it.
Another Waldo could be created in its place.
Maybe there could be multiple "Waldos"
It might be interesting.
Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for all the responses.
