Bauer has been infected with the bio-weapon, remember? He is of little use to us now.
Where is Chuck Norris when we need him?

I definitely think this is a case of Hayden trying to protect his own tush.
Two reasons I don’t have a problem with this are, because so much has already been written and released about interrogation methods under the Bush admin. And because I’d imagine that under the Obama admin the interrogation methods are going to be different than the Bush admin, which would make the benefit of the information released minimal at best.

I would agree with that assertion Rockman. I think the logic of putting the nation at risk is not sound. Most likely, they already train for interrogation techniques to be used, well, the better camps probably do. I am not condoning torture in any means but I would venture that the gov't could contrive new and improve techniques than the ones released.
Techman: I would hope you would volunteer yourself for a warning considering you were the first to tangent from the topic.

Sorry to butt in, but your post had about as much to do with the topic as mentioning oranges in a topic about apples. Sure they are both fruits, but they are not the same thing.
We are talking about if the information released in the memos are a risk to national security, and you start talking about the justification of torture. It had nothing to do with the topic.
I don't understand what the big deal is about making a little joke in a thread. You have brought this thread more off topic than anyone. You're post above is doing the exact thing you are against.
Back on topic:
Chljoe, I think you make an excellent point. We always need to work on better interrogation techniques. Honestly I would have no idea where to begin, but that's not my job. Like everything in life, we always need to look for ways to improve ourselves/situations/problems etc, IMO a step away from torture is a step in the right direction. If we are always coming up with better solutions, then the information disclosed in the memos will not be a big deal.

Yeah, now they will hug
them until they cry. You cannot allow your enemy to know more than necessary or to believe that we are soft. Trying to appease so many nations/groups/fundamentalist will only please no one.
Soft targets are easy targets.
