    Question Mario Lemieux Exclusive Question???

I just traded for the below Mario Lemieux Card, it's suppose to be a 2003-2004 Mario Lemieux Exclusive numberd to 50 # 444; however the card has no serial number on it but it does say exclusive in small white font beside the work Checklist....

Anyone else seen this? What's the deal?

What you have is a Mario Lemieux 2003-04 Upper Deck Canadian Exclusives #444 It has a print run of 50 cards. If it was my card I would put a value of about $60 on it.

There were two exclusives issued. An UD Exclusive with a pyramid in gold foil and a Canadian Exclusive with a red foil maple leaf. Both were numbered to 50.

Here are two of mine for comparison

Can you get a clearer scan of the card zooming in on the part where the "Exclsuive" is printed?

Your cards must be from a different year, mine is card # 444 which is the checklist, yours look completely different. As for the Exclusive, I will post a closer picture tonight but basically there is no serial # at the front and the work exclusive is in a light white font...

The examples I posted are from 03-04 UD. The set featured cards with the players name in the lower left corner and a "team color" band across the bottom with a blow-up of the card picture.

No, they are not the exact same card as yours. Mine are card #443, your card (#444) is the Series 2 Checklist featuring Lemieux, but the Exclusive markings are the same on every card in the set.

If I had to guess, I'd say your card is a production error of the Canadian Exclusive version. The location and size of the word "exclusive" makes it seem as though the red foil (for some reason) was not applied to this card. Hence, "Exclusive" is white instead of red and there is no maple leaf.

I also have a copy of that card, exclusive and all! That is how it looks and other than that I have no info on it! We can both learn something from this! ;)

Definitley production error of the Canadian Exclusive card. For whatever reason they did not imprint the red foil on the card.

Question now becomes, "Was this error corrected?" OR "Do all Canadian Exclusives of card #444 have this same error?"

So I have M.Brodeur card (checklist) that looks exactly the same, with no serial #, no stamp, but it says exclusive right beside the word checklist. I asked a few different sites "wussup" and the general consensus was that it was just a regular base card. I am at work and can not provide a pic at this time, but trust me when I say mine is identical to yours. I think its just a little error on UD's part. Seeing yours now makes me believe even more that it is just a regular base card.
