He was one of the best, because of him i won one of the predictor sets. Sorry to see him go out like that.

this is actually sad. very sad.
even at an old age he had such an impact and helped that team alot, a big blow to the RocketsHidden Content

That's really too bad...he had a long and productive career, and he is a future HOFer IMO.

I saw the footage during the laker game and it was tough to watch. Sad for him to go like this

It's too bad he couldn't finish out the Playoffs. It's like a pretty anticlimactic end to his career.
That makes Shaq the longest-extant player in the NBA.

I just double-checked all NBA rosters, and Mutombo is indeed the only player who was born in the '60s, so we don't have any left now. All current players are born in either the '70s or '80s. Next season marks the first where a 1990s born player will enter the league (Rubio was born in 1990; Mutombo was already 24 then, lol).
