Ouch. Buying packs of SPA you either get a nice auto(even if its a crappy player) or you get garbage for the price. Hopefully some of the base was nice.

After jumping back into the hobby in April 07... I stopped buying packs, unless it was from a new box that I seen open. I don't buy too many packs.. rather spend the extra money & get a box. Atleast I am garenteed a few hits (depending on the product).
I stopped at a shop in Federal Way, Wa.. I'm on vacation right now.. the guy didn't have much basketball.. said nobody buys any since the Celtics left town.. anyways, I was interested in a few packs of TOPPS SIGNATURES.. price of boxes were outragous. $165.. I bought 2 boxes for $145-150. the net has them a lot cheaper, but you have to wait a few days to get them.
the box had 4 packs left. I asked the guy to open a nex box. He said I'd have to buy 3 or more packs, which was fine with me. I got 3 packs & got nothing.. then I asked to buy one pack at a time for the same discounted price he gave me on the three packs. he agreed, so I started busting a way. After the 5th pack, I pulled a Chris Paul AUTO. Stopped! bought a few card holders & case.. then walked away.
by the way, if anybody is looking for a case of the very first Exquisite BB.. they have one at a very discounted price. The case box was damaged from a water leak, but the packaging on the actual boxes look intact and no noticable damage. they garentee that all cards inside will be damage free.. if I had the money, I would grab it! but would want their garentee in writing.. westcoastsportscards.org

most likely not more than half the box was already gone, what i do is from a full box i buy 3 packs at a time and try to get the patch auto =]
