Attorney In 2007 Denver TB Scare Sues CDC

Attorney In 2007 Denver TB Scare Sues CDC

The Atlanta attorney who caused an international health scare when he flew to Europe for his wedding even though he was infected with a drug-resistant form of tuberculosis is suing federal health officials, claiming they invaded his privacy...

...The lawsuit filed in federal court in Atlanta on Tuesday claims the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention damaged Speaker's reputation and made him the target of death threats. The lawsuit, which says he and his new bride split up because of the stress, seeks

    unspecified damages and court fees.

It accuses the CDC of "unlawfully and unneccessarily" revealing Speaker's private medical history and other sensitive information during an extensive media blitz in May 2007.

    What a d-bag...

They should be able to if they can prove that he knew he was infected and I believe that was the case if I remember correctly. Would be a fun point to prove since he's trying to blame someone else.

Yeah that was why it was such a big deal, he knew he was infected and decided to travel anyway.

I think it would be great for him to have several lawsuits against him now that he has tried this. And then he loses his against the CDC and get no money, but also loses to the other plaintiffs and has to pay a ton. Now that would be justice!
