Not Good News for Jay Williams
Williams' former Duke teammate Carlos Boozer, now with the Cleveland Cavaliers, painted a tough picture after a phone conversation with Williams, who has been in intensive care at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital.
"He can't feel anything down his left leg,'' Boozer said in an interview with the Medina (Ohio) Gazette. "His leg was broken in two parts, and he's got a crushed pelvis and a broken ankle. He's already undergone six hours of surgery and is going to have more. We're all hoping for the best."

Man, I was hoping he'd be able to come back to the NBA. But from what Boozer said it looks like he'd be lucky if he can walk next year.Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

you know what's the problem when you break several bones of different joints (ankle, knee, hip)?
you damage nerves
bones can be repaired and healed
nerves, once dead, don't re-grow.
This is the 2000s, people should know better than to ride motorcycles.
You want to have fun? Talk to Jay Williams -- he'll tell you how fun it is to have millions in your bank account, and the possibility of you career ending in 1 year.
Dusty Baker was quoted in saying that he finally got a motorcycle, but after he had retired as a ballplayer. He hid the bike in his garage, afraid to let his dad know he had it. This from a man who was in his 40s+ when he bought the motorcycle.

Man, how sad. I wonder what I will do with his cardboard now. I don't think I ever pulled much of Williams. I considered picking up some of his eTopps rookies for cheap, but who knows if he will ever be back now.

He didn't show much this rookie season; and towards the end of the year, he showed very little heart.
No rookie should ever be complaining about his team and wanting to be traded.
His rookie season was very poor
assuming he comes back after 1 year lay-off, he'll need at least 1/2 season to get back into the swing of things -- and that's a best-case scenario.

I wonder if players are starting to avoid Duke as their college choice? I am sure they can still get some quality players, but if I was a top recruit like Carmello was or someone like that I would stay the hell away from Duke and the curse, lol.

I know I would avoid them if I were a good high school player.
I'd probably go join some Euro team since everyone in this years draft seemed to be coming from overseas.

Wish Williams the best, hope he can still play again. He sure has a lot to prove still. Hopefully Hinrich will be better than he was...

I believe he pulled 4 tendons in his knee. That alone would be bad enough.

Being a Bulls fan, I hope that Williams will recover and walk. And play again...

i hope he will play again, i still believe he'll end up being one of the best point guards in the game one of these days as long as he can get back on the court...
i have some of his stuff, and even if he doesnt come back, he was still one of the top 20 college players ever
