Stamkos, Mason shine as Canada downs Czechs

Steven Stamkos continued his successful welcome party at the World Hockey Championship by ripping two goals in the first period to help Canada trump the Czech Republic 5-1 in its first game of the qualification round in Zurich Switzerland.
Stamkos' two goals, both early in the first period, gives the 19-year-old star five so far. That ties him with Finland's Niko Kapanen as the tournament's leaders in goals in this, his first world championship.

If anyone followed him after the ASG , he was better and better every games. He is now playing like he did with Tampa in his last 20 games with them.

Stamkos is a growing player. A tourney like the worlds will give him a much added boost to his confidence.
If you watch, he is having fun in Switzerland.
Watch out for him in the Olympics.
And as far as Canada beating up on the Czechs 5-1. When was the last time we played them, was the score that lopsided?Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd
