NASHVILLE — Brentwood’s Blake Geoffrion said he and the Predators discussed the possibility of Geoffrion turning pro following his junior season, but in the end, all agreed that a return to the University of Wisconsin was the best decision.

A few of the reasons why:
• Geoffrion, a second-round pick of the Predators in 2006, appears to be making strides with the Badgers. His points total dipped slightly from 30 to 28 between his sophomore and junior seasons, but his goal total jumped from 10 to 15.

• The 6-foot-11⁄2, 194-pound Geoffrion continues to mature physically and emotionally. He’s already been named one of Wisconsin’s captains for next season, the second year in a row he’ll serve in that role.
