Ebay Feedback Question
Hey, I apologize first if this is a bit off-topic, but I'm just wondering if anybody could help me out. Right now, i'm dealing with a non-paying bidder on ebay and I've already filed an Unpaid Item Strike, and I want to give him negative feedback. But before I do, I'm just wondering does ebay protect sellers and prevent non-paying bidders from giving a negative back to the seller?

All right, yeah I doubled checked if I can leave a negative, and unfortunately I can not.
I think its ridicules though, I understand that ebay wants to protect buyers from fraudulent sellers, but the sellers need the same kind of protection as well. Oh well.
Thanks for the comments everyone!Last edited by jeebus86; 05-04-2009 at 07:08 PM.

Your OP is really right but there is the reason.
Around 2000, I used Ebay.
At least for me, I felt Ebay was too seller's-sided.
Funnily, I request refund something(because of condition) then seller refunded and gave me non-paying bidder alert.lol
Of course, not all sellers like that. But a few silly sellers did like that.
Furthermore, paypal was not ebay company at that time.
Above casese can't be imagined now a days, but it was at that time.
(at least for part of outside of US bidders)
But IMO leaving only positive feedback is not good policy.
part of not many but not less silly buyers have abused that,IMO.
But Policy is Policy.

i like the new rule..... it can prevent the seller taking any revenge action to the buyers..
most buyers won't leave sellers negative without a reason... (although a few of them may be unreasonable)
seller can report to the ebay for any nonpayers.....

I'm going through a similar situation right now. The guy didn't read the auction and placed a bid in the last minute. He went back and read the auction and saw that it was used. He asked me if we could mutually withdraw the transaction after the auction was already closed. I said no and filed a nonpaying bidder claim. He got upset and attacked me using the "customer is always right" argument. Sorry bud, I'm not a retailer. Suck it up and read the auction before placing a bid. He might neg me, but my feedback can take a hit and be just fine.
I thought of setting up a separate ebay account just for selling since I don't do it that often to protect my primary account's feedback.

Random: Is it a violation of TOS if I publish emails in the forum of exchanges with ebay sellers?
