Murtha's Nephew Got Defense Contracts
Some more, "Change we can Believe in."
The headquarters of Murtech, in a low-slung, bland building in a Glen Burnie business park, has its blinds drawn tight and few signs of life. On several days of visits, a handful of cars sit in the parking lot, and no trucks arrive at the 10 loading bays at the back of the building.
Yet last year, Murtech received $4 million in Pentagon work, all of it without competition, for a variety of warehousing and engineering services. With its long corridor of sparsely occupied offices and an unmanned reception area, Murtech's most striking feature is its owner -- Robert C. Murtha Jr., 49. He is the nephew of Rep. John P. Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has significant sway over the Defense Department's spending as chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.

So you think this is just a Dem or Obama thing? This stuff happens all the time. It's about who you know or who you are related to.
How much tax payer money did Halliburton receive in Iraq? Was a bit more than 4 million dollars.

I despise Murtha too and I'm from NC. I don't hear a lot about him any more, but I have never heard a thing about him that I didn't completely disagree with and just generally think was dispicable. He ranks just behind Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for me.
I think the issue a lot of Republicans/conservatives have with this kind of thing is Murtha and his buddies are the same ones that have been b****ing and moaning for years about Republicans doing this kind of thing, while they are doing the exact same things themselves. You know how a lot of people here dislike religion because of the hypocrites...same thing.
