Jerseys on eBay
Not sure if this is the right area to ask this, but on eBay i have noticed that they have players jerseys for like $39.99 + shipping. They say "comes with all tags and letters and numbers are sewn on" and all that and they have reebok logos on them, but how can they sell these this cheap if they are legit? Some even come with the fight straps and these cost over $200 in the NHL store. Are these fakes or what? I'm considering buying one, but the blank one that my girlfriend got my for xmas was over $150 so i cant see how this one can be real for that price. Thanks.

These are either closeouts, or made in china "authentics". You can find a couple places that ship from overseas that are very cheap, but im quite sure are made in violation of copyright laws.

I have purchase many jerseys in the $39.99 range. They are fake/knockoffs. My 12 year old son wears them so I don't really care what happens to them. The latest one (Ovechkin white jersey) actually ripped after wearing it 2x. The quality can be good on some fakes but horrible on others. Personally after the ripped Ovechkin, I am thinking of not buying fakes and staying with the real deal.

yeah what they said. cheap knockoffs. they are decent if you don't really care too much about quality.

These are cheap knockoffs, made in China and drop-shipped to the US where they are distributed. I pointed this out to ebay last December, and mentioned that they contravened copyrights held by the NHL. I suggested that they stop listing them, but I guess this doesn't matter to ebay, because they're still there.

Well here the thing. Only the NHL would be able to stop that. If they register there trademark then can challenge anything that is stated at authentic. As there is a program that business, entities, can join much like UD could if someone was selling fake cards. Of course most of the time they do not care sadly to say.
It is called the EBAY VERO program.

well looking at them, they never say Authentic anywhere which tipped me off aside from the crazy low prices.

I know that the NHL can force ebay to stop listing them; I was merely suggesting to ebay that it would save them the time and trouble in court when this did occur.

I've bought them a few times.... including an order I made about a month ago.
I bout a blank White Blue Jays jersey, and a Vintage Blue Oilers Jersey... done up with Gretzky. The whole thing, with shipping, cost me about $80. Here's the link:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=280330896343
They came in from Korea, not China (and Korea is where the seller is listed as being from).
As far as I can tell, there is absolutely no difference between the Gretzky jersey I bought, and an identical CCM jersey I could buy here.
I don't know if they're knock-offs, or if they're going out the back door of a factory somewhere (where would the REAL things, like you buy in stores here, be manufactured?) or what the deal is. All I know is that they're cheap, look good, and I haven't seen any quality issues with them. As for 'how' they're doing it.... I just figure it's best not to ask questions.

I always think it good to answer questions. As this is a chat forum after all and the only way to find things out is to ask ?'s.
