Simeon Varlamov
Just thought I would share.....I was cruising around the stats and since Varlamov has taken over in Washington(Game 2 in first round), He has been a Star of the Game in 7 of the 9 games he has played.....I would say if he keeps it up he should be in the running as Playoff MVP.....
vs NYR
Game 2 - No Star - Made 23 saves in a 1-0 loss in Playoff debut
Game 3 - Star #1
Game 4 - No Star - Made 19 saves in a 2-1 loss
Game 5 - Star #3
Game 6 - Star #2
Game 7 - Star #1
vs PIT
Game 1 - Star #1
Game 2 - Star #3
Game 3 - Star #3
Game 4 - ???
Before Game 3, Varlamov was top 3 in every goalie catagory
T1st - Wins = 6
3rd - Goals against = 12
T1st - Goals Against Avg = 1.51
2nd - Save % = .945
T1st - Shutouts = 2
Not bad for a goalie who can barely even communicate with his defense....Last edited by CSSports; 05-07-2009 at 11:29 AM.

Definitely if he keeps this up and takes them past Pittsburgh. 6 out of 8 for someone that was flying under the radar would be a nice story.

who were the three stars in game 2 of NYR series? In a 1-0 usually you see the goal scorer and the two keepers get the nod.

I thought the same (especially at home) but the stars were:
Lundqvist - 35 saves
Callahan - 1 goal
Naslund - 1 assist

I guess they threw Naslund a bone, that might have been his only point in the series.
