Why we'd rather sell here, not eBay
So, I finally encountered the one person who would set me over the top on selling here vs. Ebay. Someone was trying to sell a card on here for about the price on eBay. And then it happened, someone offered what the price would be after eBay fees saying, "You just want to sell the card here, to avoid eBay fees." Something along those lines... Well DUH but to offer less just because of that. As long as the buyer is happy... what is the difference of a $30 card here and on eBay for the buyer...nothing. More and more incidents of low-balling.

That's obviously part of the equation. eBay gets your money 3 times when you sell an item: your listing fee, the final sale value fee, and the PayPal fee. If you take the money out, they get you a 4th time. Who wouldn't want to cut out that extra overhead?
Plus, if you sell a card here, you're likely making a die-hard collector's day - I certainly know you've made mine already!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Simply put, a lot of the people on here are certified cheapskates. Unfortunately you are better off just selling on Ebay. I remember when I was new here I put up some cards at Ebay value, and there was NO interest. So I lowered the asking price to about 10% less Ebay price and people still wanted better deals. All the cards were nice mid-high end autos and what not, but the bottom line is that despite all the Ebay BS, at least you sell the card, and get a reasonable return for it.
As far as selling lower to avoid fees, that is you best bet. A $30 card on Ebay is worth $25 Paypal direct. It is helps facilitate the sale, I have no problem doing this.

I'd sell lower on here. But when a buyer gets mad that I'm avoiding fees? Grab a tissue

Well why get upset about it just say sorry get your cards elsewhere. There always going to be people that rub us wrong. I just get amazed at how we let certain individuals get under our skin. Enjoy the people you like and avoid the ones you don't.

As a mostly a buyer, I'd honestly rather BUY here than on eBay. Being able to interact with the other collectors on this site gives me a better idea about them, and makes me feel that they're more trustworthy than just a random eBay ID.
I've gotten some great deals here, and other times I've paid what you'd see on eBay. The difference, to me, is that here I feel like I'm supporting fellow collectors that I interact with on a (nearly) daily basis.
This is a great community that gives us a FREE platform to discuss, trade, and sell our hobby. All while eBay continues to find more and more ways to gouge sellers who want to use their service.
Just my two cents.

i totally agree with drifter. buying cards from fellow members on here gives them more money in there pockets plus meaning more box breaks on here thus giving us more cards to buy. it's a win win situation for everybody involved. i personally don't sell very much i prefer to trade. but when the cup comes out in a couple of months, and my case comes in i will offer them here first then i may have to put the ones on ebay that i don't want after that because like someone said above there are alot of cheaps on here that don't want to pay a have decent price for anything.

I love selling here, if I ever could. I haven't made one big sale on here, so I resort to eBay and sell there and face the fees. It just seems hard to sell. I had a James Neal FW auto Patch, and it was the best patch seen so far. Try to sell for 55 here (lower then eBay). Didn't work, sold for 65 on eBay. But selling here is just easier because of the communication with fellow collectors.

eBay also provides a bigger market and more potential customers (sorry SCF, but it's true).
