Mayfield & 2 Crew members suspended indefinitely

The three listed below have been suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed substance abuse violation.

NASCAR has the new random drug-testing policy much like I have been use to for the past 25 years. What are these guys thinking? One word comes to mind for me "IDIOTS"!! What they didn't think they NASCAR would catch them?

Just wish the other sports would go to this too.

    Stephen......

    Jermey Mayfield, owner/driver

Tony Martin, a crewman on the No. 34 Sprint Cup car of Front Row Motorsports

Ben Williams, a crew member with the No. 16 Nationwide Series team of Roush Fenway Racing

Before we all jump to conclusions, keep in mind that it hasn't been released what substances they popped positive for. Mayfield himself said that he believes a combination of prescription meds and OTC meds resulted in the positive. I'm not standing up for him in any way, I'm just saying let's not judge until we know all the facts

Remember the situation with Hornaday a couple years ago....I'll wait and see what the story is.

And we DO live in America......INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.....

Note: this rule DOES NOT apply to professional baseball players lol

"What we have is a clear violation of policy," said David Black, whose Tennessee-based Aegis Labs conducts NASCAR's random testing program. "In my many years of experience, I have never seen a violation like this due to the combination of over-the-counter or prescription products."

    Story

    There goes Mayfield's excuse.
