Should FA Cup replays be scrapped?
They cause fixture pile-ups and injuries. There is the financial cost of replays for supporters. In some matches, players will not be at their physical or mental best and therefore possibly prone to injuries which could ultimately ruin a clubs’ season. OK, replays can offer smaller clubs large financial rewards but often their best chance of winning a tie comes in the first game so wouldn’t it just be better to have extra time and then if it’s still a draw, penalties?
What do you think?
