I don't care what they sell for on eBay. If you want one for $50-$60 go buy one there.
Aren't I entitled to ask whatever I want for the card?
I think its crap that some people come on here and try to squash me trying to sell this card for what I am asking.
If someone is willing to pay my asking price, whats wrong with that?
An item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it and if nobody is willing to pay $70-$75 then that is fine. I have had this card since 2006 with no problem, I have no problem keeping it longer.
The only reason I am trying to sell it is so I have a little extra money to buy some Kevin Smith cards.
Next time one of you guys are trying to sell a card how would you like it if I threw some eBay links in there basically saying that you are asking too much?
Would you guys like that???
I don't think so.
Unless you are interested in buying this card, please stay off my thread. I don't need people coming on saying I am asking too much. I never do that to anyone else and if you guys had any respect you wouldn't do it either.
Seriously, how would you like it?
Thanks
Mike

LOL.
Hello Daniel.
I am actually trying to raise some money to fund my Kevin Smith collection.
Mike's Mojo right now is on hold until I acquire a large amount of money to really get it going and keep it going.
I haven't forgotten about it though...
Thanks
Mike

I didn't mean to freak you out this much by my comment, I'm sorry. I never said you were offering a bad deal. In fact, with the bonuses you offer with the Mantle, it may be a good deal. I was just informing you objectively what the card sells for, so you could get a better idea of what it was worth. You were taking offers, so I assumed it would help you to know a ballpark estimate of what the card was going for.
With that said, if I was putting up a card for sale on here and you posted a link to all completed auctions of the card I was selling, and all were for substantially less, I would thank you. I would lower my price to more accurately fit the market, and hopefully get my card sold faster.
Again though, I never said you were offering a bad deal. I just showed pricing research. I didn't mean to negatively affect you at all. If I somehow did, I apologize.

You didn't affect "me". lol. Im not crazy or anything if thats what you think.
$70 is the lowest that I can go on this card. I am aware you could probably get it for less on eBay, but isn't eBay a "buyers market"? Most items sold there are for better deals than you could normally get anywhere else.
That is why I am offering the bonuses. They have value, but not to me. So it doesn't matter to me if I gave those away free, but I know someone would be able to sell each one for at least $10 so essentially think of that as $50 for the Mantle, and $10 each for the "free" bonus cards and it doesn't seem like that bad of a deal eh?
Its all about perspective. If you look at the deal from that point of view and say "hey, maybe I could get $15 each for those freebies and it would be like me getting the Mantle for $40!!"
I could look at it from that point of view also, but I prefer to say the Mantle is $70 and the others are Free.
The Magglio SP Authentic RC is a quality card, I think BV is at least $20 and last I knew the Bruback was $40-$50 BV.
Another way to think about what you basically did is this...
Lets say I am about to buy a new Cadillac for $50K. I am just about to sign the paper when you come along and say "hey, do you know you can get that same exact car on eBay for $20K?".
Ethically, the proper thing to do would be to respect my asking price. If its more than you are willing to pay, fine. Don't reply. Everyone is different and if I were in the market for a Mickey Mantle Jersey card and I happened to see this one I would think $70 is a good deal.
And the reason I feel this card holds a particular premium is because 06 was the first year of A&G and it is always one of the most popular products on the market.
Also, Topps purchased the Mantle Estate and most of the Mantle stuff that comes out isn't a "GU Jersey" its more like a shirt or tie or something.
I don't know about 08 but 07 A&G didnt have a Mantle Jersey. In my opinion a GU Jersey is more desirable than a GU bat anyway and there are alot of Mantle bat cards out there.
See where I am coming from?
Thanks
Mike
