First Lady urges graduates to "give back"

MERCED, Calif. -- First lady Michelle Obama urged jubilant graduates at a rural California university to give back to their communities.

They really dont have that option do they? Most of these people will be paying into the same system that will fund the government "stimulus" and yet the people barack is screwing over is the same group of people being urged to "give more" unbelievable.

Are you serious? You are criticizing her for saying "Give back to your community"? That's like criticizing someone for giving a birthday present.

not really criticizing her... Just think it is ironic the same people her husbands administration has been attacking since day one are also the ones being told to give back to the community they are already bailing out.

I'm all about giving back to the community. But I pay enough taxes, but of course none of that goes to my community. So I guess I have to "give" to my community.

There is a major difference between paying tax dollars and doing community service. Paying taxes isn't exactly optional, at least for those who follow the law.

But where do taxes go? or where are they SUPPOSED to go? The community. For police departments, fire departments, roads, schools, etc......

Like I said I like community service, but i've been taxed so much IDK how much more I can give and keep food on my table and a roof over my head. What more can they ask for? haha

I'll give back to the community with my future job and I do now volunteering for events sponsored by the Special Olympics. However, I'd give back more if I didn't have to worry about the outrageous pricing for a college education.

I don't really follow this post. Everyone should "give back" to their community whenever they can. Besides that doesn't have to be financial either. Volunteering time is free and very helpful.
