I hear you, although in cases like that, just say thanks and move on.
Personally, I get more annoyed about people that list their cards at the prices you mentioned (ie. way above SV) and then when you have cards for sale they'll come and offer you some ridiculous value that amounts to 50% of the SV.

I've made it a point to be willing to pay a small premium on this site over ebay as it is more of a collecting "community" rather than random seller/random buyer relationship like on ebay. We all dont want our rep harmed on this site and we generally treat each other in a friendly manner so i am more rest assured that i will get what i pay for here. Not sure i'd ever buy a card at bv period but to each his/her own. I feel ya my man, just brush it off and buy from the other 99% who are willing to make you a decent deal.

I love comments like that as I had some and I met a few internet tough guys on the net. Some are actually pretty tough while others are just a bunch of hot air.
The best thing I can say is ignore it. We do have a ignore system where you can avoid that member. I suggest that for anyone that truly gets under your skin put them on ignore. Best of luck on enjoying your time on the site.

It's his card and he can do as he wants with it. If he wants to hold out for BV on the sale, that's his prerogative. To him it does make sense. It may not go with the flow as far as standard hobby practices but he's far from the only person that does it.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Rich I have no problem with his price. Its his name calling that gets me. Soon enough he will be gone by either his words or the fact no one wants to deal with him

Yeah there's that aspect of it. People can get a little defensive when they feel somebody's calling them out. And it's one of those things that spreads - there's an old saying in customer service: you can get great service at a place 100 times and it's no guarantee that you'll come back, but if you get poor service once that's a guarantee that you won't.

I had a dealing recently, I think (hope) on another site, where a guy had an SP auto for a set I'm working on. BV low $25/high $60. I offered $35 because its a popular player from a popular team and I had never seen the card before for trade, in breaks, on ebay, nowhere. I actually don't know how the BV was derived, maybe closer to the products first release. Apparently my offer was an insult, so he decided to post it on eBay and i win it for $12. I think part of it was the short listing duration and the end time (early morning)
Not complaining about the savings, but some people in this hobby make me wonder...Last edited by o98; 05-18-2009 at 12:17 PM.
