Combined shipping on ebay?
I won two Jordan Staal cards from a guy on ebay. One on Friday and one on Saturday. I thought he would combine shipping. He told me that he combines shipping if autions are won on the same day. (It was stated in his description but I didn't see it) OK, it was my bad so I paid full shipping on both cards.
I just want to ask, how many out there think he will send them in one envelope to save on his shipping? He won't combine for me but I'm sure he'll combine for himself.

I see this happen on a frequent basis. Basically I think a seller should combine shipping on items that are all paid on one invoice (which could be purchased over a couple of days). Typically once an invoice is paid, the cards are packaged and sent. Sometimes if I see a seller has some stuff I'm interested in over 2 or 3 days (no more), I'll ask them if they would consider combining shipping as I intend to purchase.
But there are a few people who do this just for the extra buck.

I bought roughly 60 singles (ranging from $1 - $10) from a guy a few months ago. They were from an eBay store (rather than auctions) so before buying / making offers... I just sent the guy a message, told him that I could tell by his inventory I wanted to by a lot of his stuff, but becuase there was so much to pick through it would take me a 3 or 4 days (I didn't want to sit down for 4 hours and do it all at once) to go through it all. The guy messaged me back, and said "No problem. Take your time."
I've noticed the "I combine same day shipping only" and if I see multiples from a seller that I want, I usually just send him a message before bidding, and explain what I'd like to do. Most of the time they'll agree to combine shipping. Especially if you hint that's the only way they're going to get multiple bids from you :)
I would say this: If you paid a single invoice, but he didn't combine shipping for you.... I would expect it to be in multiple packages. If not, he wouldn't get 5 stars from me.

They showed up today...IN SEPERATE ENVELOPES!
Wouldn't it have saved time and money to combine shipping?

He's honest... delivering the service he charged you for.
That said, i completely would have understood if he charged you twice and shipped once. Im sorry but as a seller prices are stupid low already, and ebay gouges you twice as much.

So, true...
You sell a card for $0.99 plus $3 shipping. After your $0.15 insertion fee and $0.42 cent pay pal fee you make nothing.
It's weird, they take $0.42 from my grand total of $3.99, yet they only take $5-$6 from my $200+ sale.
