    SCORE Decoder Card? Anyone?

    Does anyone remember these?
Does anyone have one of these?
(they decoded the backs of Score cards, the bar code on back of cards)

I just want to know the name of them, so I can hopefully find one somewhere!

    Anyone?

How about a scan of it, if you have one, so i can see it.

I find it quite ironic that you be asking about these cards considering I just had my inserts binder open right to the page where I have two of them.

These were the "96-97 Golden Blades" parallel inserted 1:7 in hobby and retail packs, 1:3 in magazine packs. They were on a linen based card that had a decoder on the back that if viewed under a special pinnacle device supplied to your dealer, revealed (one out of exery eight) a winner with the words special artists proof. two more parallels would be awarded for it. One for the collector, and one for the dealer.
Because of the short window that was opened for redemption very few of the Dealers choice Artists proofs, and Special Artists Proofs madfe thier way into circulation hence the Beckett's 150x multiplier for the Dealers choice, and 120x multiplier for Specials.
Otherwise the two that I have didn't win, but the multipier for them is 12x.
The one I didn't picture is Kirk Muller.

    yes, these were the cards.
Score offered a mail in for the de-coder thing though.
you had to mail in 5 wrappers & like $1.50 & then they sent you
    the decoder card.

It was a standard hockey card sized piece of clear rigid plastic, that had grooves, that when held too the score or pinnacle card backs,
would de-code the black bar at the bottom of the cards.

I owned one at one time, but one of my friends thought they wanted it more than me.

It came in a sleeve of its own & had some score writing on it.

Still waiting to see someones scan of what I am looking for & the name they called it.
Hmmm, I think I have some old score packs, maybe I will look & see if its name is on them.

    stay tuned....

I found my decoder.I took a scan of it but not sure how to link it. I can send it through e-mail if you want. I believe it was given to dealers only but I'm not 100% posititve. It was given to me by the my friend who ran Home Plate Sportscards in Phoenix. His name was Ed Fernandez. He is no longer there but a great guy and when he left was when I stopped collecting hockey til about last year.Just wanted to also give credit where due.

And they're VERY hard to track down nowadays. Looking to get copies of all of these for my Ranford collection, was pretty tough. What makes it even crazier, is the fact that there is very little differance between the regular 'Artists Proof' (found in packs) and the 'Special Artists Proof' (from the redemption). Slightly thicker card stock, that's it.
