Unless some scammer stamped that 1/1 themselves, I'd say real.

Yeah I don't know, it would be nice to have a known "legit" 1/1 to compare it too. Also, It seems there are different levels of these numbered to various amounts, and from what I've seen on ebay, the numbering is located in different spots on the back of the card, and even possibly different colored numbered (not positive about that).

So your best bet is to find a known "legit" 1/1 from that same set, to be sure- or even send it in for authentication.

It looks like a 2003-04 Fleer Showcase card. I am not positive, but I believe Fleer was still in business when this card was released. A lot of the base Masterpiece subsets I have seen while Fleer was still in business stated "Masterpiece" somewhere on the card (in addition to the 1/1 stamp). Like this one:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-Fleer-Mystique-Masterpiece-Cal-Ripken-1-1_W0QQitemZ170332707188QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM_Sp orts_Cards?hash=item27a89ed974&_trksid=p3286.c0.m1 4&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A 1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

I am not familiar with this specific set though, and could be wrong.

i'm very tempted to say fake because of how weird the numbering looks.

One last thought. Did fleer ever stamp 1/1? I thought they did 01/01 in the later years.
