    Share your New Music Finds

I did the thread trying to find new music and I've found quite a bit on my own recently, so I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for everyone to post that new band or new song that you love so other people can check it out. Or if you buy a new album, give us a short review of it here.

So post up your new finds with the band name, one or more song names, and try to compare them to something or at least give a genre so people will have an idea of what they are.

Here are a few things I'm listening to lately:

The Fratellis - Creepin up the Back Stairs, Mistress Mabel - new rock, not very heavy

Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye, Panic Switch - newer rock...kinda hard to describe

The Mooney Suzuki - Alive and Amplified, 99% - they've been around for a while...new rock, upbeat and fun

Gnarls Barkley - Going On - everyone has heard of them, but I just love this song

Lyres - Don't Give It Up Now - only song of theirs I know, hear it on Pandora and couldn't find any more - this song sounds like the Hives with the Doors keyboard player.

And try to keep it newer stuff or obscure stuff, not older stuff most people have heard that you're just finding out about (ie you just found out Pink Floyd is good...everyone else already knows that )

And let's try to keep it going...don't post just once. If you hear something new, post it up. I'd like to keep this running so we can have a place to go look for some new bands whenever we're in the mood.

Check out Blind Pilot. My favorite song of theirs is "One Red Thread". And I have heard the fratellis before they are pretty good. If I remember I think they were on the soundtrack of an EA Sports game I had.

I am generally not into the really hardcore metal but I stumbled upon this band called Trivium on a late night radio show and their song "Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis" blew me away. Those guys are freaking amazing musicians.

    Palancar - Born Leader

Very Aphex Twin-like in spots, but also has an almost heavy metal undercurrent for an electronic song, and ends with an interesting section of tribal drums.

I've been searching (youtube mainly) lately just clicking on stuff I've never heard before, or something that others reccommend (you guys included! it's a great way to learn to listen to stuff outside our comfort zones!)

Anyways I completely forgot about this song until today....I used to have this album (Singles Soundtrack) on cassette tape haha

Hear it out, it's pretty alright :)
