Topps redemption is a joke
Today I received in the mail (3 months after redeeming, not bad) an Isiah Thomas 2008-2009 Topps signature auto card along with a photocopied letter from Topps consumer relations team. The letter stated that the card I had redeemed (2008-09 T-51 Murad BK - Anthony Randolph Mini Autograph) could not be obtained due to circumstances beyond their control. I was under the impression Topps printed the cards and I'm 99.9% sure Anthony Randolph is still alive.
The letter then goes on to say that they won't be sending the card, I will have to settle for the replacement, which they inform me is of "equal value." I guess they mean equal value to them since I'm not an Isiah Thomas fan, I will keep my personal opinions to myself as to why I don't like him.
Many will argue that the Isiah Thomas card is better because of this and that. Those people may be right, but that's not the point. The point is card companies have redemption cards that they don't take accountability for. The card I received wasn't even the same player! What if I had purchased this redemption card on a popular auction site or traded on the forum?
Thanks for the bait and switch Topps, keep up the good work!
