Kyle Busch's remarks on Dale Earnhardt Jr. ring true

Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't appreciate the barbs Kyle Busch hurled at NASCAR's most popular driver Thursday, but he didn't exactly disagree with them, either.

You know, right there is one problem I think. Even trying to live up to his dads accomplishments. They`re 2 different people, same name big deal lol, I don`t see why he has to live up to anything his dad did. Is that the same for any father/son, brother/brother thing? Why should anyone have to live up to anything his dad, brother ect. did before him??

I think that`s wrong to think that way, and try to do that. Jr. is his own man and shouldn`t have to always be compared to this or that that his dad did. It`s not fair to him. I think he`s had a pretty good career so far, hasn`t won a championship, YET, but does that mean he`s been failing? I don`t think so. Alot of good drivers haven`t won a championship but no one says they`ve failed.

I think the fans and media should quit comparing Jr. to Sr., again same name different person. Not to many can compare to Srs accomplishments. I think that`s part of Jrs. problems, he`s trying to be something he`s not. He puts to much pressure on himself because of that. And Jr. Nation expects to much from him also.

I say give the guy a break. Let him be himself for a change!! Not always having to live up to the hype or other peoples expectations. What do y`all think of that? Sorry for the long post lol.

I agree Tom-but it will never happen-unless he turns into a 7 time champion who wins 76 or more races...its unfortunately the role hes forced into.

As for KB's comments-I cant say hes lyin-but he should keep his mouth shut-i dont see why hed have any sour grapes from Hendrick dumping him when hes running so good where hes at-just be quiet Shrub-although I do agree with what he said to some point.

Kyle Petty went through this same thing. I remember seeing an interview with Kyle, maybe from back in the Hotwheels car days, when he really had to defend his own identitiy. The biggest difference is the amount of pressure that is being put on Dale to perform. The smartest thing Jr. ever did was to leave DEI. At least now, he's working on his own career, not continuing his Father's.
