House GOP proposes $375 billion in budget reductions

House GOP proposes $375 billion in budget reductions

The House Republican leadership upped the ante Thursday in the ongoing debate over the size and scope of the federal budget, unveiling a proposal to cut spending by $375 billion over the next five years.

The bulk of the GOP’s proposed savings would come from capping non-defense discretionary spending at the level of inflation...

...“For the sake of our young people and America’s long-term fiscal viability, Congress simply cannot keep spending money that the president himself admits we don’t have.”

Obviously Dems and the Obamastration won't go for it...it would mean no increased spending. From what this says at least, it doesn't even mean a cut in spending, just no increases. I would like to see massive cuts, but right now I'll take what I can get.

It seems pretty simple...we don't have the money, so don't go out spending more than usual. In your house, if times are bad financially and getting worse, do you go on a shopping spree?

You do if you have millions of people working for you and all you gotta do is raise taxes, then you do what you want.
