Getting bored please help

Well been collecting for awhile and boredom has finally set in,No this isn't one of those selling everything quiting the hobby threads.I just want some suggestions from you my fellow collectors to rekindle my collecting spirits,What do you guys do when you hit a lull in your collecting endeavors.Let me know Thanks Steve

Might not be the answer you're looking for, but I just take a break. I was getting kinda worn down last fall and we were looking for ways to save money, so I just quit trading for a while. I was still active on the site, but didn't make a trade for 2-3 months I think, maybe longer. Then I decided I wanted to ease back into it, well it kinda took off a little faster than I expected for a while mainly because I had unknowingly rekindled the fire.

To recharge without taking a break, I would recommend collecting something different for a while. I kinda did that too...started collecting more nicer RCs, which I had always enjoyed, but never really focused on. When you hit a lull because you're looking at the same old people's same old stuff (usually in the offseason when not as many people are trading), changing up what you're collecting gets you looking in different sections of buckets and lists at stuff you hadn't seen before...

I've done something that I think works great. Get rid of everything except your prized personal collection and start all over again.

easier said than done. I've been trying to go this route and all I do is get constantly low balled!

I was bored a year or so ago so i decided to collect a player where i had a legitimate shot at getting a complete master set of the player. Has to be an older guy before all the 1/1s came into play but in a year i have found half of AJ Guytons cards and am well on my way. He doesnt have any 1/1s and really nothing real low numbered.... kept me interested and looking on ebay/sportsbuy/here constantly for them.... The chase makes it fun

Organize. Organize. Organize.

Just take some time to organize what you have. And also take some time look at what you have that you really love. That might rekindle the fire a bit. May be a short break to do it, but when you see the cards you love, you will get ideas for stuff to chase.

One other thing, and I just recently did this, make a list of general things that you still would love to have in your collection. I mean, I have a list of guys I would love to have Autos of from the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics. Some I probably will never have, but it gives me something to work towards.

And recently, I got an awesome Wade Boggs Auto and also a very sweet Mike Lowell Triple Threads I have been looking for. Gives a sense of completion. One other thing I am working towards is a full Alphabet of BTLs of Boston teams. I guess also if you can find somethign that will take some time and effort to complete, and that should keep you interested.

Just a few personal thoughts and ideas on the subject.

Steve, i dont think it'd be possible for you to sell out..lol you have way to much stuff to do that..possibly collect something else? I know you got your Giants/Yanks, not sure on how deep you go into them (player wise) though
