Leino was real good over in Finland. Put up 28 goals / 77 points for Jokerit in 07-08. Put up decent numbers (15 goals / 46 points in 57 games) with Grand Rapids this year too.

Webber I never heard any big advanced billing on him.... but he seemed to be a pretty good offensive defenceman in Montreal, when he was called up for games this year (inlcuding the playoffs).

you are correct and thanks for the help. I think backlund will be a big one, not sure about leino. never even heard of webber

I agree that Backlund is a pretty good call, Luca Caputi in Pittsburgh could be one. He is a big winger and with salary limitation he has a lot of chances to play next year.

I'd add Anti Niemi to the list too because of the goalie situation in Chicago.

Drayson Bowman might be because he was on the Hurricanes' Playoff roster. Mikael Backlund got in a couple of games for the Flames after the WJCs. Maybe Artem Anisimov from the Rangers.

But there's not many that come to mind.

There were some college FAs (like Christian Hanson for the Leafs) but none that come to mind that will make a real impact (that were actually on the roster and actually played a game at the end of the year).

edit: sorry just saw the post about the victory checklist; didn't look at that.

i went to HS with Christian Hanson, he was a grade below me. another kid is on the flyers ahl team. our HS team was nasty, and being pittsburgh there isnt a ton of talent (yet)
