So why only a database about high-end memorabilia cards? How could we be sure of the authenticity of a Gretzky Patch Auto #/50 with a great piece of emblem? What is a high-end card? For me it is a card rarer than #/10. It is the responsability of cards manufacturer to offer a quality product, now people modify cards so they cannot do anything outside to slab ALL the cards, like ITG does with ITG Ultimate Memorabilia. People switching pieces of jersey on a card isn't a new thing! It is obvious for at least 5 years. Why so much hype about that recently? The only cards not slabbed with 100% authenticity are the NHL Shields cards, you are sure of what you will get and you won't have authentification problems!!!

I'm down to either pulling the card myself (which rarely ever happens), there are a few dealers I trust who's cards I buy. The only other things I've seen recently is dealers who bust their boxes on camera (seriously) and if something insane is pulled, they have it on film that it's legit. If those don't work, screw it, I'll skip the card.

I really do hope that UD does something with their own database. They need to do it with all their sports. It's time for UD to step up and do something about all the fake patching going on!!! This will be so important in the long run for all both the hobbyists and UD as well!!
