Since the NHL Lockout, Ultimate Collection, formerly Premier Collection, has had a bit of the short-end-of-the-stick treatment from the hobby.

In past years it was sandwiched between high-end sets such as Sweet Shot, OPC Premier and The Cup and like a hook up between spring formal and prom, it was quickly forgotten.

This year though, Sweet Shot was shelved (editor’s note: thankfully) which means that UC opens UD’s premium stretch drive to the end of the season, which, at least from activity on message boards, means that the traditional transition set now steps into the spotlight.
