Well I define players based on changing the way the game is played or defining an era. Truthfully, he needs to to win 2-3 more championships to get into the top 5 in my mind. They are at least 7-8 players I would place before him right now. It takes time after a players career to say for sure. Just the fact that I would consider him for the top 10 is a big deal. He has a shot another 2-3 championships at least with his current team.Last edited by drtom2005; 06-10-2009 at 05:35 PM.

That's exactly what I want to see. But there have been questionable calls by the refs for both teams. And lots of no calls too.

In my opinion, Kobe has absolutely 'defined an era.' After MJ, there was Kobe. He is/has been frequently referred to as the greatest player in the world and even the people who absolutely hate him can't keep his name out of their mouths.

Not really. If anything the era after Jordan has been referred to the search for the next Jordan. There are a few players that are better them him right now from history. He is in the top 10-15 already. Let him do more before you call him the next Jordan.

I was not referring to him as the next MJ. I was referring to the era after MJ's Era as Kobe's era.

Kobe needs to win more championships before I will call this his era. Tim Duncan has more rings. He has competition from Lebron, and maybe Dwight and Carmelo now.

Please say something constructive next time. I will no longer be responding to you since you are apparently just a fanboy. By the way, I did not say Duncan defines this era. You just thought this because you are a fanboy. This era has had no long term dominate team. No dominate player. If Kobe wins a few more he will be up there.Last edited by drtom2005; 06-10-2009 at 10:40 PM.
