    The NHL's Forgotten Superstar

By Tim Godfrey, Fantasy Sports Writer

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - July 1 is still more than three weeks away and with it the start of the NHL's Free Agency season, but already rumors have been flying about possible deals and possible trades.

The biggest rumor making the rounds has been the Tampa Bay Lightning shopping star forward Vincent Lecavalier and his $85 million contract. Suitors have ranged from the Montreal Canadiens to the Los Angeles Kings, both looking for a premier player to improve their clubs while also helping to market their franchise.

Anyone who signs players with contracts such as his as destined for failure.

Ovechkin, Crosby, and Malkin are one thing, but LeCavalier is one or two notches below them, and not worth the money.

His contract is worth 2-3 second and third line players, those are the players that help win games.

    Montreal stay away please!

Even if we tried Shane, I dont think Vinny would come to Mtl, he's too smart to put himself under that much pressure...

I agree. I don't blame any player who doesn't want to play there. I still look back to 95, Patrick Roy, one of the greatest goalies in the history of the game, and those fans ran broke him, and ran him outta town!
