Pogge Done in Toronto?
Not sure if anybody caught this last night on That's Hockey, but apparently the Justin Pogge experiment is over in Toronto. The show stated that Brian Burke doesn't intend to submit a qualifying offer to the young goaltender, who is an impending RFA. After only a handful of games in the NHL, is this right?
What are your thoughts, Leafs fans?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I've just read that Curtis Joseph left Toronto, because he wasn't as good as like before.
Burke said: "He did a lot of thing for Toronto, but we have to move on". As I read the stats of him, I know, but a goalie like Joseph? I don'T like these things.
About Pogge. There is the Draft, and a lot of players will be Free Agent. Khabibulin, Fernandez, Biron. So maybe he will sign a big name.

I thought Pogge was good int he AHL.
Pretty hard to tell how good he would have been, I mean his only games in the NHL were with the Leafs. Toskala looked no better this past season!
Pogge will be a Red Wing!! And he will do his best to make the Leafs eat It!

Wow, a few years ago we had two good young goalie prospects (Rask & Pogge) and soon we may not have anything to show for. I'll never forget or forgive JFJ for trading Rask for Raycroft.

I think this is a move to ensure that Gustavsson (Not sure if that's how you spell his name) signs with the Leafs. The Leafs can offer him the back-up role in Toronto and have Gerber be the #1 for the Marlies, or Gerber can be the Back-up and the Leafs can offer Gustavsson the #1 with the Marlies with a guarentee that he'll be in the NHL the following year.
From a standpoint of landing Gustavsson, with Gerber, Toskala, Pogge, and Joseph the chances of getting this guy were bleak. By getting rid of 2 of them, it makes Toronto a much more appealling place to play for a young goalie.

Sigh... here we go again. Tell me what real chances has Pogge had in the NHL? A couple of games???
They should have brought him up to play alot more than they did last season. I mean after all it was labeled as a "REBUILDING" season! Why go with Joseph? I mean why not let the young gun get his shot.
Toronto will eat it like they did with Rask. Mark my words.
