I'll throw this out there in defense of the OP (simply because I like to play devil's [no pun intended] advocate sometimes):
The Law of Conservation of Energy clearly states that energy CANNOT be destroyed--rather transformed from one form to another. Since many creationists believe our soul is simply our energy, could this not be an argument used for the existence of heaven? I always did poorly in science courses, but this is something that has always stood out.

There's a difference between explaining why you think there is a heaven and explaining with authority the specific details the layerings of the afterlife.
