Several months ago I returned to card collecting on a limited level. When I stopped collecting years ago, GU cards were just coming out (that first UD Game Jersey set was being released). So, my experience with GU is very limited.

I have decided to focus on a couple specific players...and one of them is Joey Harrington. I figured that I would start by picking up a couple GU cards here and there with him...since I didn't have any cards of him yet I figured I shouldn't start with base stuff.

I have a handful of GU cards of Harrington now and I have made an effort to get cards with multi-color patches. I don't want to just grab the first thing that comes along, I want to put together a collection I could be proud of. But, what I am wondering is...is there anyway to know which GU cards just won't be available with multi-color patches? Are there various sets which are pretty much considered to be single color only that I will have to buy at some point? I don't want to "settle" for single color, but I understand that some cards I may have to. My collection is pretty small...I only have 10 GU cards but 8 of them have at least 2 colors in the patches (and 6 of them have 3 colors).

Anyway, I want to purchase cards for this collection as wisely as possible? Does anyone have any advice or is it just a matter of keeping your eyes open?
