Any superstitions out there?

Was wondering if any of the collectors have superstitions on how they break open their boxes. For instance, do you open all the packs in the top layer first, or do you open all the packs in one of the stacks first, or do you open all the packs on the left first. Who knows, maybe it will help yield some big hits in future boxes.

i take the left stacks out and put the lower left on top of the top left and open them, then i do the same with the right. i always look at the top of the pack to see when i get a jsy and usually skip every card on the way. but with packs without a jsy, i look at every card to see if i get anyone in my pc.

I always have my shop owner pick my boxes, seems like the ones he picks are always better than the ones I pick...LOL

I have one but its not for busting packs or boxes.

When I get home from work I check my mail box for bubble envelopes. I ever so slowly open it and peak inside.

The worst is when the only thing in the mailbox is a VISA bill. That just ruins my day, lol

This. I also have my shop owner pick out the packs if I buy them instead of a box. The man has lucky hands...I dunno what I'll do when he's gone.

I was at a show one time and was gonna get a box of MVP cause I had about $25 left and wanted a box...I was going to pick one in the middle and hope for the best. The guy at the table picks the top one. I get back home, open it and there's my Dawes/Prucha Dual AU which is a case hit!

As for the superstition, I always try to open boxes on my couch. I don't know why, I just have good luck on the couch! Got a Stamkos YGs, Brassard YGs, and an Oshie YGs from a two box break while on the couch. Another good spot for me is at the window. I have done this before. Once I got a Toews UD MJC RC from a box and another time I got one box of 05-06 UD Ice and got a Phaneuf RC and my Naslund Cool Threads AU Patch /15 from the first pack! As for selection of the packs, lately I have been taking the packs out of the box and doing the left side first and then the right side. However, that hasn't worked well, so I think I'll start at the right and do those and then do the left next time! Good luck with your breaks in the future! Post what you get!

I find that my tradition is that I take all the garbage and leave the good stuff for others.

I used to work in a shop and some of the things people did where just strange I've see people move 5 packs around for like 5 min before they opened them lol... Then got a bunch of nothing.

You would think the next time they would do something new but nope.

When I break a box I always open from right to left top to bottom.

Do you guys remember when UD had the Michael Jordan baseball card. If I remember correctly, you could always find the card in the second pack from the bottom in the lower right side of the box. I had about a dozen of those cards. lol

I'm partial to the bottom left packs of new boxes, don't know why but I always like the bottom left packs.

But weirdly enough, 3 bottom left packs this year for me have held rookie redemptions...hmmm

I always reach into the middle of the box and pull out a couple packs from each side...once those are open I start from the front (usually the right side) and work my way through the remaining packs.

Oh...and I NEVER eat before or during a break....and make sure your hands are thoroughly washed and clean!
