Dan - Ray Allen may be a streaky shooter now, but when he is on, he is better than 99% of players in the league - plus, his clutchness is 2nd to none (IMO).
And, Rip > Ray-Ray? Heck no! You did see his shots against the Bulls, right?
And Rondo can average high stats like sportyryan said - his points may not be at 20 ppg, but he can easily be a 15ppg/10apg/8rpg guy - he did it in the playoffs! And, he had some amazing games in the regular season...so it's not just all "postseason hype"
I think your bias for the Pistons blinds your vision to see that Rondo is truly an up-and-coming star...and I mean that in the nicest way possible

When he is on sure, but alot of time he hasnt been on lately...
Rip is better at this time, would you take a Ray Allen past his prime and getting old or a younger Hamilton who never stops moving and is still in his prime?
Rondos stats in the playoffs are from Garnett being out, with Garnett in Rondo wouldnt have averaged those numbers, you know that as well as I..
I am using no bias, he is an above average PG but nothing specialHidden Content

Nick - never said that...lol
Dan - Yes, I would still take Ray Allen over Rip, because his clutchness and he doesn't have to take the shot - Rip seems to always want to take the shot, where as Ray is willing to pass...plus, I doubt Rip has had too many clutch shots at the end of games...also, Rondo did have some great games in the regular season, WITH Garnett playing, so the arguement that he only did that because of no KG is bunk IMO...maybe his numbers went up a bit, but not as much as you are implying.
Ok, I'll give you that Rondo is an above average player now, and not yet a superstar - but, doesn't he have the potential to be the next Chris Paul? You can't realistically say no, can you?

Absolutly not, no chance he could be close to CP3 EVER! He can rack up assists but he cant lead a team of nobodys like Paul has done/did...
come on Nathan, i thought you watched Basketball?
and you are telling me that by playing with KG, Ray & Pierce that doesnt significantly help Rondo in boosting his stats?

All I know is Joe isn't letting Stuckey go anywhere any time soon. He had Iverson come off the bench so he could develop Stuckey. Hes the only player the Pistons wont think about trading this season.
Comparing Rondo/Stuckey
If Stuckey had Garnet or pierce to pass the ball to he would rack us as many assists as rondo did last season. Rondo is a better defender and rebounder then Stuckey, but Stuckey has more potential in my opinion of becoming a better offensive guard. And no way is Rondo going to become a Chris Paul level star unless he develops some confidence in his shot.

Ah, C's trying to capitalize on Rondo's stock while its high. I doubt he's hit the ceiling of his potential. I can see why they offered this trade though. Not a good one for the Pistons...but I guess it never hurts to make an offer.
