Ben Wallace didn't need to be guarded, he would miss open dunks and lay-ups on his own.

This trade is mainly so they can contend with Orlando and Dwight Howard and Boston and Kevin Garnett. They both slaughter Z and Big Ben, so they needed a change there...a 50% Shaq is still something to fear when you are going up for an alley-oop dunk being dished by Jameer Nelson!
Plus, Shaq wants another ring, and this is probably the best situation for him - LA and Orlando already have superb centers, and Boston can't take his salary, plus they don't want Perkins to go backwards by benching him.

Kerr is a bad GM, but no matter how good the GM is, with a cheap owner like Sarver... you can't do much.
Because of him, they've continuously sold draft picks. (two of them turned out to be Rudy Fernandez and Rondo)
Because of him, they couldn't afford Joe Johnson. (Ironically, season before he became a free agent, Joe Johnson asked for an extension of 5 years for around 45-50 millions. Too cheap to give him an extension, then to see JJ's value double.)

i think it's a good move for the Cavs, but somewhat poor for the Suns. I mean they get Wallace, but you gotta figure Shaq was on a roll last year for them. You saw a couple 40+ point games he had going there.
Also, Shaq+Lebron is just a domination of a duo.
I agree, however, with a few posts from this thread.
Shaq will retire a champion if he's in Cleveland.
