    Curious

I didnt know where to post this. Forum is too big lol. I just have to get adjusted.

    Here are my questions.

    1. I see so many avid collectors here. Is there a place where I can dontate cards for future contests? If that is allowed or if they do it?

    2. Ebay question. I have tried to sell some double cards I have on there, but I am getting no bids :( Is it because I have never sold anything on there before and just bought? Is my description wrong and not detailed enough? I try to list these great cards underprice for other people to have at a great price, well i think they are. Maybe im wrong.

    3. How do you all scan cards? Is it with a scanner? I just take pictures and upload them. Is that ok?

    4. A way to bookmark threads? or is there a way to see what you have posted in?

Im sure I have more, just cant think right now lol. Thanks for the help!

First of all, I'm moving this to General Sports Card Talk since most of these have to do with cards.

I didnt know where to post this. Forum is too big lol. I just have to get adjusted.

    Here are my questions.

    1. I see so many avid collectors here. Is there a place where I can dontate cards for future contests? If that is allowed or if they do it?

Contact the team manager or another mod of the sport you're interested in donating for and they should be able to coordinate who to send it to, etc. You can find the Mods for a particular sport by looking on the right hand side of the forum listings on the front page, under the Moderator column.

This could be any number of things...could be the things you mentioned or just bad luck at timing. If it's players who aren't very popular, there are fewer people looking for them and they may not be looking when you have it listed. I would research the price in detail and make sure you're in that range. And a good description is very important...provide the complete card title (player, brand, set, subset (if applicable), card #, auto/gu/rc/insert, etc...anything that will help them identify). And also give a good description of the condition, if there isn't one, people are less likely to bid because they aren't sure if it's in good condition.

    3. How do you all scan cards? Is it with a scanner? I just take pictures and upload them. Is that ok?

A scanner is best, but a lot of people don't have them. Pics are fine, a lot of people do that, myself included. I would recommend using the Macro function on your digital camera (for shooting closeup shots) and use a light source like a flashlight angled at the card from the side. That way the shot is clear and there should be enough light without much glare.

    4. A way to bookmark threads? or is there a way to see what you have posted in?

Two ways: 1) You can subscribe to threads. At the top of a thread, click on the Thread Tools drop down menu and choose Subscribe to this Thread, then click ok on the next page. If you subscribe to threads, on the top toolbar on the bottom right, click on the Quick Links drop down menu and then click on Subscribed Threads and it will bring up all the threads you've subscribed to and you can go to them from there or manage your subscriptions (delete, etc). 2) Right beside Quick Links on the main toolbar, click My Posts and either Posts or Threads and that will show where you've posted and you can go to the threads from there.

Hope that helps, but feel free to ask any other questions and you're welcome to message me if you want as well.

YES, I'm sure some one can chime in and give you direction on that.

    2. Ebay question. I have tried to sell some double cards I have on there, but I am getting no bids :( Is it because I have never sold anything on there before and just bought? Could be a number of things...you wouldn't be the first person to get no bids on an item :)

    3. How do you all scan cards? Is it with a scanner? I just take pictures and upload them. Is that ok?

I use a digital camera and then upload to an image hosting site. Some people use scanners and upload them. It's preference. Just keep in mind people expect clear/crisp images; they want to be able to see the condition of the card.

    4. A way to bookmark threads? or is there a way to see what you have posted in?

There is a way to subscribe to threads, if that's what you are referring to. There is also a "My Posts" link on the top of the page, give that a go :)

Im sure I have more, just cant think right now lol. Thanks for the help!

Hope that helps for now, I'm sure other memebers here will respond as well.

awesome thank you!!!! Yeah my ebay stuff is not selling for some reason. Cards are way underpriced and nobody is touching it. I get watchers, but nothing in a vicinity of people bidding. I will definately have to do more research I guess, but ****, I dont want to sell some double cards for pennys lol.

imlost, one way you can get some looks on your ebay is attactching your ebay Username to your account. You should be able to do it in control panel somewhere, then you can go to auctions part of the forum and tell people to look@ your ebay auctions..

Thank you Glebe. Im an old fart that is a little computer illeterate so my son helps me with a lot of things when it comes to computers. I have a feeling that cnshockey is getting the wrong idea on a lot of things and that upsets me a little bit.

I dont mind if someone is honest and tells the truth, but dont speculate something unless you can prove it.

Dont throw things out and try to ruin a reputation when the stuff you are throwing out is wrong to begin with. That is what upsets me. Its speculation. If you have a problem with me, pm me and ask me. Lets be adults.
