Blair is extremely undersized for the NBA. I don't think it should be that big of a surprise, nor do I consider it that big of a steal.

He was a college phenom, he will be a 'good' player in the NBA at best. He is just too short for his limited ball skills.

Ah but height isn't all that matters. Here's a great post I took from another forum.

The most important thing about Blair isn't his wingspan. It's his standing reach of 8'10.5". Some of these guys have short necks - no kidding. I saw a really good article about it, that some guys are essentially 3"-4" shorter because of it. And that's why they play so much taller, because they are taller where it matters - from the shoulders down.

To give you some idea, Griffin and Jordan Hill are both listed at 6'10", but Griffin has a standing reach of 8'9", and Hill has a standing reach of 9'0". That puts Blair exactly in the middle of those two, and it means that should be able to play as big as they do. It doesn't matter where the top of your head is, just where the tip of your fingers are.

If you can rebound at the college level you can rebound at the NBA level...especially playing along side Tim Duncan.

Like Vitale said, Blair is basically going to be Big Baby 2.0. Pretty good for their pick - teams were picking these guys out of left field and letting Blair slip.

Who needs ACLs to play in the NBA any way?

Van Gundy said the Spurs were his draft winners.

Not that I really listen to Van Gundy anyways, lol.

JVG is hilarious, might be my favorite basketball broadcaster.

I thought that pick went to Phoenix?

Oh good Lord. Those people over there are all nuts.

Danny Green is a nice pick for us, assuming we actually do have that pick...I was working, so I have no clue....but I thought the Shaq deal sent over our #46 pick?

And on the 30th pick, that was just dumb. Why even draft a guy if he's playing overseas?

I thought so too, my dad told me that next years second round pick will go to the Suns.

He has extremely long arms, he doesn't have a short neck. They will compensate for some of the height difference but he isn't just a 'little short.' He is a midget compared to the other guys playing inside. I mean, Lebron is looking down at Blair.

Like I said, I think he will be good - never great.
