Pacers won't pick up Daniels' option

Daniels' agent, Glenn Schwartzman, told The Associated Press in an e-mail on Monday that the Pacers have indicated that they will not pay the final year of the deal. Daniels would have made $7.3 million next season, but now he's an unrestricted free agent.

Daniels averaged a career-high 13.6 points per game last season, but Brandon Rush emerged late and is the favorite to start at shooting

His value as 7.3 million expiring might have been worth it.

I saw this on ESPN the other day...forgot about it, though! I don't think Daniels is worth $7+ million, but the expiring contract may've been worth something...either way, I'd rather have Rush starting, as he looks very promising!

The Pacers still might sign him to a longer-term contract, only owing him less money per season than what he would have been owed. We could really use him as a backup now. He doesn't mind coming off the bench. He's always been ready to play no matter if he's starting or coming off the bench. With Dunleavy being out at least half of next season if not more, we are looking to add another wing player and Daniels might come back to be that player, especially since he's already in the flow of our offense. We will see what happens though...

Had no idea that he was making that much, that is a few million more than I expected him to be making. Hit or miss move for the Pacers.

He's a good player, I think they should definitely try to resign him, but in order to do that they probably have to move Tinsley.

yeah it sucks that we're paying tinsley so much (like the highest contract on the team) and he's not even allowed in the state of Indiana.

Marquis put up some nice numbers early in the season...
    They should re-sign him.
