Stuff getting lost in the mail

Im new to the hobby and recently I may have encountered my first lost in the mail. I made a trade and got my end a while ago, and the card I sent out has not arrived yet. i mailed it on June 12th, and it was from the US to Canada but still i think it should have arrived by now. So what typically do you do? Send the card they sent you back or what?

I would still wait a while longer.. a month +

Mail sometimes takes forever to get to it's destination... once I had a package take about a month to get to me, and we were in the same province, maybe a few hours away from each other!

If you've decided to declare it lost.. then first try to work out a solution between you two, whether it is to split the loss, or for you send their end back..

If nothing can be decided, put the trade in dispute for a dispute mod to help

I would just wait. I have sent cards to Canada that takes up to six weeks. It has taken up six weeks for me to receive from Canada.

I'd contact your trading partner, advise when it was mailed and wait at least one more week. I've found that it takes anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to receive mail from Canada. I'm sure some others will tell you to get registered mail but I've had differing opinions from the USPS. Some have said it's not available and some want to charge $10 US and up.I don't know if delivery confirmation is an option but it is cheaper. Anyways, if it doesn't show up within a month of the send date, I'd return the card. Hopefully it wasn't a high end card or I would have paid what it took to make sure it arrived. If it's an inexpensive one sometimes you take a chance.Only once have I not received a card and the seller sent me another of equal value as he could not replace it.

yeah the guy PMed me over the weekend to make sure that I sent it and I have asked him to allow another week before we start talking about how to resolve it, i was just wondering if there was like a generally accepted rule I guess. Thanks for the replies.

As you can see in my sig I have the whole set of Al Bundy auto letters...

Anyway, the last letter I needed was the "G". It was bought from an American. After a month I contacted the seller. He gave me a half refund which I agreed too. We both lost out on the deal so we split the loss. Well two months later I checked the mail and was happy to see some bubble envelopes. As I was waiting for the elevator I looked at the envelopes and noticed an address that looked familiar. I ripped the envelope open and low and behold my auto'd "G" had arrived. I let out a "YEEEAAAAHHHH!" and did a little dance. (I'm not kidding, lol) I think the other people standing around me were kind of scared. I'm sure they have never seen a 6' 6' 320lb guy dance around like an idiot, lol.

I'm glad I got it because I have never seen another auto'd "G". I also gave the half refund back to the seller. The moral of the story is that shipping between Canada and USA can take awhile...AND BE QUITE NERVE RACKING!

    Thanks for listening....

well its good to hear that it got to you eventually. Thats another reason i would like to wait some but there does become a point where the wait is too long to expect the item to ever arrive.
