I have some Free-Agent questions!!!
Let's use Jarrett Jack (Pacers) as an example for my questions as the Pacers ahve just given him a qualifying offer.
Question #1: The Pacers just gave Jack a qualifying offer. How long do the rest of the teams have until they match the offer or whatever? Is it a week?
Question #2: Do teams have to match it or are they not allowed to and therefore have to go higher than the Pacers, making a bidding war??
Question #3: If it is like a "bidding war" as described in Q #2, how long do the Pacers have until they can give a higher "bid" on Jarrett? And if the Pacers do give that higher "bid", can that same other team give another high offer or can they only give one higher offer.
Question #4: If I am going the correct way about Q #3, can only one team throw in an offer, or can multiples teams get involved--basically like first come first served?
If anybody could help me out that would be great!!! Thanks!!!!!!

Jack is a restricted free agent, so if another NBA team offers him a contract and he signs that offer sheet, then the Pacers are the only team that can match the offer, in which they have 7 days to match the offer. Jack can also just sign with the Pacers without getting an offer from another team, but it would probably be best for him to play the field instead of just signing with the Pacers right away as he would probably get more money with leaving his options open and seeing if he can draw interest from other teams
