NHL tracker: Sabres get Montador
Darcy Regier said before the draft he would not be in the market for a big-name free agent but that didn't keep him from testing the market.
The Buffalo Sabres signed defenseman Steve Montador to a two-year, $3.1 million contract Wednesday. Montador, who finished last season with Boston, had four goals, 17 assists and 143 penalty minutes last year.
